The Hunger Games Fan Made Music, Movies & More

100 Days of Mockingjay Week 6

We're entering the SIXTH week of our 100 Days of Mockingjay celebration. It has been so much fun to focus on different segments of this incredible fandom each week, to hear your stories, and to understand what The Hunger Games means to you guys. This week we're going to focus on more of your fan-made creations, namely fan music, fan films, and audio dramas.

Did you know there's a group of super-passionate fans who adapted all 3 Hunger Games books into audio dramas? If you haven't discovered The Katniss Chronicles yet, you're in for a treat.

Have you ever heard any fan made Hunger Games music? One tribute wrote gorgeous scores for all three books before the films came out. We'll introduce you to his music plus some of the other amazing fan made Hunger Games music and covers you may have missed.

Did you realize how many fan made Hunger Games short films are out there? We'll spotlight some of our favorites.

There are also some crazy talented amateur film editors in the fandom. As soon as a new trailer appears, one of you has re-edited it into something often more powerful than the original content.  We'll highlight some of those this week as well.

As usual, with a new theme for the week comes a new giveaway. This week one winner will receive:

1 Limited Edition Skullcandy Mockingjay headset

1 Black Mockingjay pin

Enter the giveaway through the widget below. This giveaway runs from Wed, Sept 16 - Tues, Sept 22nd at 8pmET. The giveaway is open to international tributes.

My favorite music has to definitely be The Hanging Tree. It was done so well, from Jennifer's voice to the choir and the orchestra. Also, I enjoyed James Newton Howard's scores throughout the 3 films.

I hate to be cliche, but The Hanging Tree is definitely my favorite. It was such a haunting experience hearing it in theatre. I remember clearly the entire theatre singing along. It is one of my favorite moments from the entire fandom.

I think all the soundtracks and scores are amazing in all THG movies! These are some of my favorite songs to listen "Safe and Sound" from THG soundtrack, from Catching Fire soundtrack: "Mirror" &"Elastic Heart", from Mockingjay soundtrack: "Scream My Name", "All My Love", "Meltdown", & "Dead Air" . Some of my favorites from the scores would have to be "Entering the Captiol", "Horn of Plenty", "Searching for Peeta", & "Tenuous Winners/Return Home" from THG score; "Katniss", "Katniss is Chosen", "There's Always a Flaw", & "Arena Crumbles" from Catching Fire; "The Mockingjay","Remind Her Who The Enemy Is", "They're Back", & of course "The Hanging Tree" from Mockingjay Part 1. I cannot wait to hear the soundtrack and score Mockingjay Part 2!

Are you.. are you coming to the tree where they strung up a man they say he murder three. Strange things did happen here no stranger would it be. If we met at midnight in the hanging tree.

The Hanging Tree is by far the most powerful and moving score piece. However, coming in close second would have to be Rue's Farewell. James Newton Howard is life.

Hanging tree is my favorite!

I'm sure everyone is saying this, but my favorites are "The Hanging Tree" and the opening of the original Hunger Games movie.

Yellow Flicker Beat captures Katniss's life so much without sounding too angsty. The whole song starts out light and then builds up towards the chorus, which is kinda how the Revolution came to life.

Nothing beats The Hanging Tree!

September 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterKatelynn Doan

Definitely Hanging Tree but I love the fan version. The famous one. It was more haunting ang eerie. Although I do love the cinematic effect of the movie version.

I mostly love the first movie soundtracks. They were less EDM. Forthe other movies, I love Who We Are, Yellow Flcker Beat and Atlas.
